DB2 issue message DSNT375I when there is deadlock, but this message only contain ‘half’ information (1 blocker and 1 waiter), the other ‘half’ information is in SMF 102 record (IFCID 172 deadlock data). This presentation illustrate how to analyze/parse IFCID 172 data without any tool (0 cost), this can help application team to identify the root cause of deadlock.
