Colin Oakhill – Infotel
Abstract
This session from the chief architect of several Db2 z/OS products, dives down deep into the problems relating to Db2 package maintenance within Db2 for z/OS.
Packages were introduced in Db2 2.3 in 1991 and have eased application development under Db2 ever since. However, this also causes many new packages to be built every day. Maintenance has been neglected in many systems. The introduction of DevOps and agile programming within application development can have a negative influence on the number of packages in your system.
This presentation will show you how packages can be managed and enable you to keep only the “required”.
