Abstract
Use of High Performance DBATs has the potential to provide significant CPU reduction. However, it must be used intelligently and implemented carefully. This session will start gently and then take a deep dive on experiences in implementing High Performance DBATs for DDF workloads. The following topics will be covered: what is a connection, what is a DBAT (thread), Db2 thread pooling and DRDA inactive connections, what are High Performance DBATs, good candidates for High Performance DBATs, general guidance for configuring High Performance DBATs, performance metrics and monitoring, WLM and High Performance DBATs, issues and summary of guidance.
